Day 6
Silence
I can’t remember all the times
that I have sat in silence.
Silent tears, Silent sobs.
The silence can be deafening
when you are all alone.
No one to turn to.
Silent is the way my heart feels
too much pain has filled it up.
Silent are my eyes to the agony
of tears that need to fall.
Silent are my ears
To the call of silence in my soul.
I live in silence
It is all that I know.
I remember music
Music that filled my heart
Music that was so beautiful
I rejoiced!
Where is the music now?
I stand in the silence
I want it to go
Hopefully,
someday,
The silence
will be gone.

Think in terms of Simon and Garfunkel’s old hit, “Hello silence, my old friend.”
Powerful and sad. Silence can be peaceful but this silence is avoidance, on purpose.
Sad and well-written.

The silence can be deafening when you are all alone. Wise words – very true!
A poignant piece of writing.

Beautifully sad!
My favourite line: Silent is the way my heart feels
Beautiful.
I like the layout.
Thank you. π
Silent eyes, that’s good.
There are many things that causer silence – I don’t think any are very pleasant.
Hope the music comes back.
Too sad to be comfortable, especially to my growing deafness, but you have written a beautiful poem.
