In the cool breeze
Of the morning sun
Sits the raven.
His eyes flickering back and forth
like a serpent
getting ready to strike.
Watching
Waiting
seeing everything.
Biding his time.
To put his curse
upon mankind.
Because He knows
the first human that
sets eyes on him today
will die.
Here sits the Raven.
He knows he is death.
He’s watching
for you
to take your last breath.

Great piece! I love the way you evoke a feeling of nervous anticipation in the reader as we wait for the reader to pounce. Well done!

the darkness added exquisite flavor to the poem! i love it! ravens are cool creatures!
Ravens are pretty, and so is your poem. Darkly pretty.
This reminded me of the feeling I got when I read Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets. Gave me chills. Beautiful writing!!!
